Post Removal
Removal of posts from root canals is often a tedious and difficult procedure. Factors such as type of post, type of cement used to place the post, the diameter & length of post and accessibility of the post, directly affect the success of post removal. The most common method of post removal is done using ultrasonic vibration and instrumentation.
Once the post is removed, the endodontist has to ensure that the previous root canal is not failing. The endodontist evaluates the health of the previous root canal filling using a variety of tests, as well as radiographic and periodontal evaluations.
